Slime Mould – Raspberry (Tubifera ferruginosa)

Tubifera ferruginosa, commonly known as the Raspberry Slime Mould, is a striking species that produces vivid pink to reddish clusters resembling miniature raspberries. Our cultures are grown naturally on wood, replicating the organism’s preferred habitat and providing a more stable, nutrient-rich environment for sustained growth.

This species serves as a valuable food source for high-end springtail species and can also be offered to other springtails and microfauna. Its wood-based growth supports a natural microbial community that enhances nutrition, while maintaining consistent humidity encourages steady but slow development.

Key Points:

Cultivated on wood for natural, nutrient-rich growth

Excellent food source for high-end and general springtail species

Forms distinct raspberry-like fruiting clusters

Prefers humid, shaded conditions and indirect feeding from microbial growth

Usage Instructions:
Place a small section of Tubifera ferruginosa with its wood substrate into a humid enclosure and maintain contact with decaying organic matter. Keep in a dark, warm environment with stable humidity to promote slow, consistent growth.

Note:
This species is extremely difficult to cultivate and may develop slowly or unpredictably. Recommended for experienced keepers familiar with maintaining high humidity and microbial balance.
